The National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted on behalf of University Grants Commission (UGC) for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility of Assistant Professorship, Junior Research Fellowship or both, for Indian Universities and Colleges.

The NET exam was introduced in the year of 1989. Widely regarded as one of the hardest exams to clear the winning percentage of the exam is just 6 percent. From December 2018 NTA took charge of conducting the exam.  The exams are conducted twice annually.

Eligibility for UGC NET in Labour Welfare: Post-Graduation in Labour Welfare, Finance, Economics, Business Services, Accountancy, or any other related subjects.

Your percentage in PG should be more than 55% for the General category & 50% for ST/SC/OBC/PWD/Transgenders.

Scope of UGC NET Labour Welfare:

Senior Research Fellowship:

After completing the initial tenure of two years as a junior research fellowship, candidate’s work in the tenure will be assessed and if found satisfactory, there will be an extension of tenure for next three years. Along with the extension of tenure, the candidate will also get raise in the fellowship.

In the past few years, there is an evaluation in the Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and the authorities have started considering UGC NET Result for recruiting candidates on various posts.

UGC NET Exam Pattern 2021 

UGC NET is an online exam conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT). The Labour Welfare exam contains two papers that candidates need to complete in a duration of three hours. Both paper-I and -II (Labour Welfare) contain objective-type questions and it is mandatory for candidates to attempt questions from both the papers.
