According to the notice, which is published in a Newspaper on 22-January-2018, the test will have two papers: Paper I and Paper II. Each paper will have 100 marks.

Paper I will have total 50 questions and all are compulsory to attempt. The paper II will have 100 questions and all are obligatory.

The upper Age confine has been stretched out to 30 years from the current 28 years (the age relaxation as earlier will remain same).

The notification said that the point by point notice on the test will be available on the official site of UGC-NET from 01 February 2018.

In the meantime, online application website for UGC-NET July 2018 exam will open from 06 March 2018. The online application entry will close on 05 April 2018. The fee can be paid up to 06 April 2018.

Paper I details: Paper I will have 50 MCQ type questions (mandatory) and each conveying 2 marks each. The paper should be of general nature, planned to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the applicant. It will basically be intended to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. The applicants need to answer this paper in an hour (9:30 AM – 10:30 AM).

Paper II details:  Paper II will have 100 MCQ type questions (mandatory) and each conveying 2 marks, which will be based on the subject choose by the applicant. The test will held for two hours (11:00 AM to 1:00 PM).
